Check, check, re-check
A simple process. A process of diligence, detail, and dedication. A process that when applied, never fails.
Do you want to know the only way to guarantee you never miss or forget something again?
Simple, check, check, re-check.
Most individuals check once, some will double-check, very few will re-check the third time.
Packing for a work trip? Write down a list of everything you need. Pack it. Then check to make sure you have everything. Then, check again, now you know for sure you are ready. Doesn’t it make more sense to take the 5 extra minutes to triple-check, rather than later realizing you don’t have something you need? All because you wouldn’t re-check.
In a fast-paced, competitive world, the margin for error is small. That is if you are trying to win, if you are trying to be excellent if you are trying to be your best.
That is also the very reason it is so easy to stand out.
Do you want to be better and different, making you stand out from the crowd?
Then be outstanding with your details. Never miss, never forget.
This doesn’t mean you will get everything right, you won’t. You will make mistakes. You will do things wrong. But if you can at least guarantee that you check every box, every time, then your detail will be what separates you. Everyone wants to work with the person that never misses an assignment, no one wants to work with the person that can’t be counted on.
Your willingness to check, check, re-check shows everything about you. It screams you are either about it or if this isn’t for you.
If you are really about it, you can’t afford not to check, check, re-check. “Forgetting” will cost more than you want to lose. Seriously, how can you ever use the excuse of “I forgot.”
That just isn’t good enough.
So, start triple checking, a simple check, check, re-check may seem too extreme, and you may not think it’s necessary. That’s fine, someone else will come along that is willing to work to that standard of detail and they will pass you up faster than you can even realize.
