Something must give.

If you haven’t got everything you want yet, it comes down to one ultimatum, one do-or-die decision.

You either change what you want, or you change what you do.

Read that again, you either change what you want, or you change what you do. Most people want what they want but are unwilling to make the sacrifices and changes in life needed to make their wants come to life.

This principle holds true in any endeavor or profession, at all levels. This is a concept we use with every player, team, and organization we work with.

  • You want to be an All-Star? You better do the things that will make you an All-Star.

  • You don’t want to be in the G-League anymore? You better stop doing the things keeping you in the G-League.

  • You want to be an executive? You better do the things that will make you an executive.

  • You don’t want to stay an intern? You better stop operating like an intern.

  • You want to be a leader? You better stop acting like a follower.

Low-level work = Low-level results.

Inconsistent work = Inconsistent results.

Excellent work = Excellent results.

The equation is that simple. The work you do leads directly to the results you receive.

You either change what you want, or you change what you do.
